Conducted with a focus on listening and building close relationships with the district's economic stakeholders, this visit allowed representatives of Mayor Jean Marie ABOUNA to discover an initiative led by an entrepreneur living with a disability, committed to agri-food processing. This initiative was praised for its resilience, innovation, and contribution to promoting the local economy.
During the visit, the municipal teams were able to observe the various stages of production of natural juices produced by TARA FOOD, from fruit selection to packaging. The company relies primarily on local raw materials to offer healthy, affordable products that meet quality standards.
This immersion also provided an opportunity to discuss with the company's founder the challenges related to the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly regarding institutional support, market visibility, and the modernization of production equipment.
Through this initiative, the first municipality of Cameroon's political capital reaffirms its commitment to encouraging local businesses that create jobs and wealth. The Municipality intends to support innovative initiatives that contribute to the economic dynamism of the District and the empowerment of its residents, particularly young people and women, but especially people living with disabilities.
The visit to TARA FOOD also illustrates the importance of partnerships between local authorities and private sector stakeholders in building a strong, inclusive, and sustainable local economy. By supporting promoters of "buying local," the Yaoundé 1st District Municipality helps strengthen the competitiveness of Cameroonian products and promote growth based on national resources.
Through this field visit, Yaoundé 1st reaffirms its close ties with entrepreneurs and its commitment to fostering initiatives that showcase Cameroonian expertise.
