The Civil Registry issues birth, marriage and death certificates and other official documents related to major life events. Counter open Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM.
Birth certificates are issued within 48 to 72 hours of a complete file being received. Three types are available:
Birth declarations (within 90 days of birth) are free and mandatory. Beyond that deadline, a judicial supplementary ruling is required.
Marriage files must be filed at least 30 days before the planned date. Total cost: 15,000 FCFA (stamps and ceremony fees included). The ceremony is celebrated at the City Hall or, on request, at the home of one of the spouses.
Mandatory declaration within 30 days of death. Free of charge. Excerpts and copies are then issued at the same rate as birth certificates.
From June 2026, copy and excerpt requests can be submitted online via the municipal platform, with counter pickup or postal delivery.
