Sanitary inspections of restaurants, markets and drinking establishments. Hygiene checks, awareness campaigns, penalties for non-compliance.
The city hall's hygiene inspectors carry out unannounced visits to:
Checks cover food storage, premises cleanliness, staff hygiene, water quality and waste management.
Every food establishment must obtain an annual hygiene certificate issued by the department. Cost: 15,000 FCFA, valid 12 months, renewal requested 30 days before expiry. Displaying the certificate is mandatory.
Quarterly campaigns in public spaces (markets, schools, bus stations). Free home intervention for elderly, disabled or vulnerable persons, on request.
The department hosts free quarterly training sessions for food operators (4 hours, with certificate). Dates announced on the city hall's website and by SMS to registered establishments.
For a voluntary sanitary inspection: written request to the Mayor describing the activity
surface area and staff. To obtain a hygiene certificate: opening authorisation
